auto repair costs estimate
Cover partial costs with auto insurance?
Can insurance cover partial costs? I don't want the cost of repairs to go over $1000.
So can I ask the body repair shop to charge insurance only 1000 out of total 1500 and rest can be paid to him separately?
The story is that someone hit my car and has been very polite and nice since the accident and has requested if the repair costs can be kept under $1000 so that his insurance record doesn't get affected. But the problem is that the estimate for repair is $1500.
So I was wondering if Insurance could cover 1000 and he could pay the rest $500.
Thanks
If you file this claim, your company will pursue this person for the entire cost of the damages.
A person who damages your vehicle does not get to dictate how much you spend to repair. They have to pay the cost of industry standard repairs for the damage they caused.
If they caused $1500 worth of damages, unfortunately that is what they owe.
If you file a claim, you will get all your repairs done, and your insurance company will pursue the other party on your behalf.
