extended auto repair insurance
auto insurance claim?

i recently put my car in a collision shop and the collision shop says they need new parts for the car and the adjuster doesnt want to write the check. my car is old 2000(integra) and the damage extends through the whole back and onto the side of my car and i believe that the job to repair it would cost more than what the adjuster wrote me the check for. My insurance basically wants to pound out all the metal and bondal everything and just paint over whatever is damages(basically cutting their cost) is there anything i can do about it?i feel that my car deserves more than that i havnt had any accidents and 1 ticket through out my driving life.

Why is it that EVERYONE automatically believes that the bodyshop is right and the tightwad, penny-pinching insurance company is out to screw over the owner and insist that the car be patched up just so it won't be a 'total loss'? Have you ever really dealt with a large number of body shops? Brother, there are some out there that are nothing but scum -- the owners are crooks, the techs are idiots and their work product is crap. Thank God the vast majority of collision repair shops are decent, honest people that really want to do a good job. It's the same with insurance companies -- most only want to pay the claim and move on to the next file. They don't give one damn if your car totals or not. There are some real s*ithole companies out there also. I have written tens of thousands of estimates in my career and I know what is repairable and what isn't and the fact an insured hasn't had any accidents or tickets makes no difference to me at all when I inspect a vehicle.
