used car transmission parts
Should i fix the transmission on my 94 Accord or pay monthly for a another used car?

The tranmission on my 94 Accord is starting to go out and its gonna cost $1300-$2000 to get it fixed. The car has over 200,000 miles on it. The problem is that $2000 is what i paid for the car in the 1st place, not to mention i still have $700 worth of other problems i need to fix. It's a waste to put back the same amount the car is worht back into it. Not to mention i don't have the money to fix it. My dad said he would help but i dont want him to waste his money for that. Im a college student on chritmas break for the moment and right now im getting rides from my family to get to work. But school starts back in a week. I need to know what to do ASAP. Part of me rather go to a dealership and get a $10,000 car and pay monthly like everybody else but i've only been with my job for only a few months and im not sure i'll be making the same ammount a few months down the road. Should i sell my car and make a downpayment on a car and take a chance on payments or fix the transmission?

You should get another used car. Hondas tend to have tons of problems over 200k miles.
